Long-Term Care

City Drug Store provides medications and consulting services to long-term care nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and boarding homes in Aroostook County. Our services are available to skilled nursing units as well at competitive rates. Medications are individually packaged in multi-dose blister cards for pickup and delivery. Our pharmacists perform drug regimen reviews for the various facilities we contract with and are on call 24/7 for emergencies.

Monthly Drug Regimen Reviews

Following the implementation of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA-87), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that nursing facilities have a pharmacist perform a monthly Drug Regimen Review (DRR) for each resident. This involves reviewing the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and other relevant chart documentation for medication-related problems. The pharmacist's recommendations are documented in the patient's chart and addressed by the attending physician.

The pharmacists at City Drug Store provide DRR services each month for patients residing in contracted nursing facilities. We have excellent working relationships with the overseeing nursing home physicians in the local area. We provide DRR services at competitive prices based on the number of patients reviewed each month.
